Why does the remaining battery charge keep changing?

Example, while I'm using the laptop:

92% 2 hours 57mins

then, 90% 9 hours 45 mins

then, 81% 2 hours 47 mins.

I don't play games. I surf the internet like Amazon and I do research so I read quite a bit online. I will also do word processing.  But the battery charge keeps changing so I don't know what battery life  is actually remaining.

Thanks for any help.

Are you opening different apps and doing different functions when this change occurs? The deal is you may be getting an instantaneous report that is based on what you are doing at that instant and when you do more things or increase the quantity of operations, the phone quickly senses that the increased workload will kill the battery in a shorter time and reports this shorter battery life to you.

Thank you for the info.

I had used the laptop (Galaxy Flex - it's the blue one and only comes in one color) to go on Amazon looking at stuff and I also had a word processing software open where I was writing. Other than that, I was not doing anything else. Occasionally, I would look up a word on the internet for my writing.

But that makes sense. That the battery remaining charge changes according to what I was doing.

I thought the laptop was faulty. It was a renewed from Amazon. Overall, the battery stayed charged for only a few hours even though  the remaining hours read 7 or 8 hours.

I was very uncomfortable with the laptop, because I was thinking, what if this battery issue was really a problem. I contacted Amazon product support and they said if I was not playing games or watching movies etc., the battery should last for more than a few hours.
