My old phone I'd set important contacts with unique ringtone so I'd know it was them calling, however am I correct that my Galaxy A12 does not have this capability? kind of a let down - I mean, it's a Galaxy! My old generic phone could. I know this is one of their budget models, but it is still a Galaxy.

Here's how to set a custom ringtone for a contact on your Samsung Galaxy A12:

Open the Contacts app: Locate and open the Contacts app on your phone.

Select the contact: Choose the contact for whom you want to set a custom ringtone.

Edit the contact: Tap the "Edit" button (usually represented by an icon like a pencil or three dots).

View more details: If necessary, tap "View more" or a similar option to reveal more contact details.

Find the ringtone option: Scroll down until you find the "Ringtone" option.

Choose a ringtone: Select the desired ringtone from the available options. You can also tap the "+" or "Add" button to choose a custom audio file from your device.

Save the changes: Tap the back button or "Save" to confirm your selection and save the custom ringtone for that contact.

Not sure what software version your A12 is currently running but, if you select a contact that you want to assign a specific ringtone to, go to that contact and then there should be 3 dots on the bottom or somewhere else depending on your software version thats says "More" and then it will show an option to "Change ringtone/vibration" that's where you can assign a ringtone for that contact only.
