Has it read SD cards before? If so, could these new SD cards be some of the new super fast ones that may not be supported by your phone?

Could be any number of reasons; not being in the proper format, too large a capacity for your phone to "see" or, as Oxford pointed out, high speed and your phone can't handle it. Which phone do you have?

@all123 Sorry, simple question here since you gave no details. Where are you looking to determine if your phone is seeing the SD card?

It won't show up in Device care -> Storage. You should be able to see it in the My Files app.

FYI... yes, the tab A9 plus will show both SD card and OneDrive in device care storage, you just have to swipe right after it populates internal storage.1T3WOluVwE.jpg

@Oxford I didn't realize that about the Tablets. But this is in the A series area and the OP mentions their phone. Does it do the same for phones?

@LongHiker Yes, it does this in my A54.  Tap storage in device care and swipe left brings up my SD card.  Although, I believe the OP was referring to the phone not seeing the SD card at all in the file manager, presumably because they wanted to transfer files to it.

@realaud Whatever the OP is referring to is a mystery. They provided no details.

@LongHiker Meanwhile, we are all here commenting to each other and the OP hasn't seen fit to return; so I guess they either figured it out, or it's just not that important a problem to them.
