That's ok. Turn off sync an wifi scanning all the time helps also.

I assume you don't have an application that will open that file. Was it taken by your camera or just stored in a photo app?

Saving everywhere like that ,some pics take, and sometimes it doesn't,,,im thinking more of an updated issue... but what do you expect of a free phone

On a Samsung Galaxy A16 (or really any Android phone), this usually happens when:

1. File got corrupted while saving โ€“ sometimes if the camera app is interrupted (low storage, app crash, phone lag, or force close), the image doesnโ€™t save properly.

2. Storage issue โ€“ if your internal storage or SD card is nearly full, or the SD card is faulty, photos can save as unreadable files.

3. SD card problem โ€“ if youโ€™re saving photos directly to an SD card, it may be corrupted, not formatted correctly, or starting to fail.

4. Gallery/thumbnail cache issue โ€“ sometimes the image itself is fine, but the Gallery app canโ€™t read or display it because of a thumbnail database problem.

5. Permissions glitch โ€“ rarely, if the camera app doesnโ€™t have proper storage permissions, it might save incomplete files.

Things to try:

Check if the actual file opens in Google Photos or another gallery app.

Go to My Files โ†’ DCIM โ†’ Camera and see if the image has a file size (if itโ€™s 0 KB, itโ€™s truly corrupted).

If saving to an SD card, switch storage back to internal memory and test.

Restart the phone and clear Camera app cache (Settings โ†’ Apps โ†’ Camera โ†’ Storage โ†’ Clear cache).

Make sure thereโ€™s enough free storage on both phone and SD card.

Test the camera in Safe Mode to rule out another app interfering.
