I'm quite poor. So my A14-5G is what I have as a phone. Can someone let me know how to turn my phone off without having to use Gemini? When I push the power off button, Gemini pops up and I have to say or ask to turn my phone off, which then brings brings my phone to the turn off screen but if their is any random word spoken beforehand, Gemini responds with some stupid response.

Slothfart, do you have bixby ? You can activate bixby and say turn off phone, or maybe create a routine, i have Gemini set for my double press side button and typed turn off phone and that worked non verbally though.

I do not have bixby. But then I also dont know what bixby is. I do not want to talk to my phone for anything. Eventually, I know that will likely be my only way to use any smart device. So I just want to touch buttons for the time being. Thanks for the response.

That's understandable and the exchange rate needs to weaken to make these phones viable for all to afford

I don't generally recommend carrier phones, but carrier deals can be a real option for folks on a tight budget.

My carrier (cricket) is currently offering S25FE at $7/mo (bringing the total financed cost of the phone to around $168 for an S series phone) for new customers with a $35/mo unlimited plan.

Massive upgrade over the A14 at ~$42/mo, all in. Maybe still out of reach for some, but definitely one of the most affordable ways I've seen to get your hands on a high end device.

I appreciate your assistance. I will look into that. I'm also looking into Lifeline. I live in the sticks, so it's not always easy to get reception.

Cricket uses ATT towers, in case that is helpful info

AT&T is absolutely worthless where I live in Maine. Up here the carriers that work best are Verizon, Spectrum which I currently have, and U.S. Cellular which I used to have.

Go to settings and search side key or power key, and there should be an option to select power menu along side Bixby and gemini, select power menu, and now every time u hold power button gemini doesn't show up anymore
