Is this trend of the MicroSD slot being eliminated actually ok with the rest of the community? I'm on the A54 5G still and looking at options to upgrade next year and it doesn't seem like Samsung will be an option.

They make them really tiny now, they are no bigger than USB external SD card readers. They can remain attached, or kept on a keychain to inset when you need to read or store data. You are obviosly just fishing for excused not to use them, which is your right, but SD card slots are not coming back and more and more manufacturers are abandoning them in their new designs. You do as you wish, but this is the wrong hill to die on.

I've been with Samsung since 2015 I've owned a couple motos in between as cheap phones to get me by if a phone breaks. I'll be buying the Sony Xperia 1 VII soon and shifting away from Samsung.

Yes. With the advent of larger internal storage and the proliferation of phone compatible USB drives, the SD card is unnecessary.

Can't say I'm bothered by it. Never think about it, actually.

Samsung regularly gives free storage upgrades as a promotional offer. My current device is a 512GB purchased for the exact same price as the base model. At present, I have ~200GB of available storage on my device.

In the event that I fill that ~200GB, I will move my files to an external drive and start fresh.

If you still feel a need for a Micro SD slot with flagship specs, might I suggest a Sony Experia device.

I say remove it, since there are better options now with cloud storage. If an SD card goes bad, everything could be lost. With cloud storage, it's safe and has easy access.
