How do I turn the media off on my lock screen. It should be an option not something I have to deal with. It's ridiculous that I have to put up with this on my lock screen. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it is greatly appreciated.

You may want to mark that comment as a solution. I'm sure there will be others looking for it.

It automatically downloaded because you have a carrier branded phone and downloads are part of your purchase ageement.

My phone updated (Samsung A54) this morning, and when I opened it I couldn't see any of my notifications. The only thing I can see is the news at the bottom, and I have to press a notification button manually but it looks bad and I prefer the old way where I just opened my phone and could quickly see who is texting or emailing me.

Additionally, I can't long press to edit the home screen because of the news tab at the bottom. The customization button is useless as well, it doesn't even let me remove it and the new features button doesn't clearly even show how to turn on notifications icons.

I JUST WANT TO REMOVE IT!!! Please help. I don't want the news on my screen every time I OPEN MY PHONE!!!

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "News at the bottom." Are you referring to the Now Bar?

The Now Bar can be disabled in Settings if you don't like it.

As for notifications, the default notification style has been changed. You can change the appearance of lock screen notifications by going to Settings > Notifications > Lock Screen Notifications. The "Cards" setting shows notification details on the lock screen without expanding the panel.

If you are not referring to the Now Bar, and you are instead saying that you are getting intrusive pop-ups that prevent you from using your device normally, there is likely a malicious app installed on your device.

Samsung's Nice Catch App can help you locate the offending app.
https://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.android.app.goodcatch

Turn on "detect commercials" and "toast history" and wait for the pop up to occur. Nice catch will tell you what the offending app is so you can delete it.

On my phone it's in the log in screen , the screen that you see when you turn it on. It's a row of boxes with news and such. ITS SUCKS! I didn't ask for it. I've tried everything to remove them and nothing works. Been all thru settings if I could install news feeds I want then maybe but can't stand what you've git on there

Is it the "Global Goals" app, perhaps?

If so, here is the official Samsung guide for removing those: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10003382/

If this is still not what you are experiencing... did you buy your phone from a carrier at a subsidized price?

Carriers sometimes sell phones at a loss and then run ads on them to make up the difference. If your phone is a carrier-locked, subsidized device, it is possible that your carrier bundled these intrusive ads in an update. There may be a carrier-specific app that can be uninstalled or disabled to stop the ads. Again, Nice Catch can help you identify this.

For reasons like this, it is highly recommended to buy unlocked phones directly from the manufacturer.

I'm having the exact same problem, and it's starting to tick me off me off. None of these are working the news is still along the bottom of the lock screen, I have done everything, installed everything or uninstalled everything I can think of.
