How do I turn the media off on my lock screen. It should be an option not something I have to deal with. It's ridiculous that I have to put up with this on my lock screen. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it is greatly appreciated.

See the solution presented, which you would have, had you read through the post.  You can't miss it, it's in the big grey box. Or, you could scroll to the top of the page and click on "jump to solution"

You mist have a carrier branded phone. If that solution worked for you, then that content was put there by your carrier.

Or you can go to the Metro Play app, click on the 3 lines in the upper right-hand corner (settings), then go down to "Disable Lockscreen" on the menu, check one of the answers, then click "Disable" and they're gone.

Yesterday, I was FORCED to accept this New homescreen with ALL this junk of topics covering my beautiful picture. I am forced to see the nonsense instead of my picture. Last time I checked, I purchased this phone NOT Metro PCS. We should NOT BE FORCED to have Meteo News (or whatever) on our phone.
Does anyone know how to remove it!

I saw this posted yesterday
Go to the Metro Play app, click on the 3 lines in top right corner and then click Disable Lockscreen. Choose whatever option you want and hit Disable.

Hopefully this helps.

It's what you get for having a carrier branded phone.  It's in your service agreement that they can add content, and I guess they did.  It's the price you pay for the significant discount you get for buying from the carrier.  These things do not come from Samsung. As @GaryB82 said, you can turn it off.  I would also suggest you send your feedback about it to Metro/T-Mo.

Anyone have a solution for the same issue on my Galaxy Note 8 that I own? It has the Tmo splash screen since they took over Sprint.
The phone has been paid off for years and is on my Tmo account. Any help is appreciated.

The T-Mobile splash screen cannot be removed. It is embedded in the phone's firmware.
