Contact in contact list disappeared Samsung AI7

Possibly, with the update to AI7, my Samsung phone contact list, except for 1 entry (very confusing) has disappeared. If I type my area code lots of contacts appear.

Contacts are there in texting (google messages).

It suppose to be because you have people's phone numbers with that area code.

Yes that's part of my point; the contacts are somewhere in the device but not in the list where they should be. Got it fixed!

@Kevin-1701 It may be that you are looking at the contacts only in one storage location. Try this:

1. Open the Contacts app.
2. Click the 3 dots in upper right.
3. Select "View by storage location".
4. Select "All contacts".

In checking further, I was using Samsung's contact app, not google. Evidently, something happened to remove the contacts. In addition, to see the contacts in google app, I need to re-allow my phone access. Very strange!

THANK YOU, that worked! Somehow the setting changed from "all contacts" to "Samsung account. So many things to check & know!
