A Series & Other MobileThe screen becoming unresponsive in cold temps is most likely a result of the display tech (LCD.) Liquid Crystal displays can freeze inside and become unresponsive.
Some performance issues are unavoidable in extreme cold, regardless of device. Cold saps Li/ion batteries, for example, resulting in cold shutdowns.
The display issue has been improved upon by newer, more premium models using OLED technology. If you need your device to function in colder temps, it is recommended that you upgrade to a device with an OLED screen. You will also be much happier with a new device's performance.
