Galaxy S22
Since updating to One UI 7, I’ve noticed that Samsung has replaced the previous charging display with a large, pill-shaped animation that offers no useful information. The old display showed battery percentage and estimated time until full — now it’s just a glowing bar with no clear function, and no way to remove or change it.
I’ve turned off:
Always On Display
Charging Info
Edge Lighting
Brief Pop-up settings
Charging sounds/vibration
...yet the animation still appears every time I plug my phone in, even when the screen is off. There’s no toggle to disable this visual, no way to revert to the old version, and even Good Lock (LockStar) currently doesn’t allow removing it.
This feels more like a branding effect than a feature — and it takes away choice from the user.
Request:
Please give us the option to:
1. Disable the charging animation entirely
2. Restore the battery percentage + estimated time display
3. Customize the look or behavior via Good Lock or system settings
I’m not asking for much — just a small degree of control over something that happens multiple times a day. The previous version was perfectly fine, and this change feels unnecessary and intrusive.
Thank you.
