Hi Samsung Community,
I have a 2024 QN800D 8K Neo QLED TV (North America), and I’ve noticed something odd:
- Ambient Mode seems to be missing from the TV interface.
- Instead, the TV shows Art Mode, which looks like a rebranded version of Ambient Mode.
- However, in the SmartThings app, it still shows “Ambient Mode” as a control option, even though the TV UI says “Art Mode.”
- Pressing the Power button just turns the TV off—no Art Mode activation like on The Frame.
- Online user manual says under Settings - All Settings - General & Privacy - Power and Energy Saving - Power Button Option. This feature is set to Art/TV by default. But I don't see this Power Button option in my TV settings.
I’ve tried:
- Updating firmware
- Exploring Daily Board (as a workaround)
But the inconsistency remains. Has anyone in the U.S. been able to resolve this by re-adding the TV or through a firmware update?
Is Samsung planning to restore Ambient Mode or fully transition to Art Mode on this model?
Also, it would be really helpful, if Samsung enables the user detection feature for Art Mode as well. Especially it can detect the motion and enable the Daily Board, so why not enable this option for Art Mode as well.
Any insights or official clarification would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
