[UNPACKED Review] A Leap Forward for Foldables

Today's at Galaxy Unpacked 2025 / Samsung Members Connect the announcement of the new Galaxy Fold 7 and the Galaxy Flip 7, and also the new Watch 8 series has definitely created some noise especially regarding the advancements in the foldable lineup we me and my fellow Samsung Member Stars.

I'm particularly excited about the Fold 7's new design, which finally addresses some key areas for improvement. The fact that it's now wider and thinner, combined with the new Z Fold camera is ultra-level, it's a significant leap forward. The ability to have a tablet experience in a pocketable device continues to be its most compelling feature, and these design tweaks should only enhance that. And those new colors sound incredible! The coral red in particular really caught my eye.

Regarding the S Pen,  I've personally never found it to be a crucial feature for my workflow. If it's removal contributes to a smaller and more streamlined device, I'm all for it. It seems like a worthwhile trade-off for a more compact form factor that everyone has been asking for.

I on the other hand, is one that has been using the S-Pen from the Note 2. This is a business phone, where you correct papers, drawings and many more. I have bought every single Fold phone until today. No S-Pen is a deal breaker for me.

No S Pan will be downfall of Fold 7. I doubt anyone would complain if they add 1mm to accommodate digitizer.

That big beautiful screen with no S-Pen? I have a million notes taken with my S-Pen, especially when I was in school and for work. Why why why?

Right!! I'm an artist and love drawing on my Fold6. If this is the end of S-Pen support going forward, I'm not upgrading. I'll just hang onto my Fold6. Samsung can be so disrespectful. Ugh!!!! That's the end of writing on the calendar too!! 😫😫😫
