This is a user-to-user tech support forum. No one in charge of decision-making at Samsung monitors what is posted here.

I have asked multiple posters who have created new accounts to decry the removal of "classic DeX" to specify exactly what features have been removed so that other users can potentially assist them with alternatives.

So far, I received 0 responses and no one has been able to provide any details. Maybe you will be the first.

What specific features have been removed that have rendered your device "unusable" and nearly brought you to tears?

Have you tried Samsung Flow, Smartview, or Windows Link? Would they be similar to a DEX? The apps/features mentioned are tools for synergy and not like an operating system though.

Hi I have the same issue! I too cried every time when I got down to my work because of a new dex. BUT! I've talked to tech support multiple times and even wrote a letter to their president to return the old version of Dex. They told me that if there will be more requests to their tech support to return Dex, they will do it. Please go to Samsung official website and contact tech support so that they know that there are a lot of us!

Google has put a "desktop mode" into Android. Samsung's DeX would have conflicted with this, so Samsung has had to cut features out of DeX and effectively start over.

https://www.androidauthority.com/one-ui-8-classic-dex-3580755/

"With Google now developing a native desktop mode for Android, thereโ€™s no longer a need for Samsung to maintain its own heavily modified version of DeX. Doing so would be counterproductive, requiring Samsung to constantly adapt its code to Googleโ€™s changes and risk breaking compatibility with apps built for large screens. While phone makers often stick with their own software features even after Google introduces a stock equivalent, this situation is different. Desktop Mode is poised to become a core part of Googleโ€™s future Android strategy, making its adoption essential."
