How can I get the backspace button to only delete characters when Ib press and hold it down, and not delete back words or much of a URL in browsers such as Google Chrome?

Go on phone then the 3 dots for settings then settings, block numbers and it should be there

Hold for a second or two and release. If you hold too long it'll delete everything. You have to hold and release
