Hello,

I'm experiencing a critical issue with the 'Extend Unlock' feature on my Samsung Galaxy S9 FE+ 5G tablet (SM-X818U) after the February 2025 One UI update. The update has completely broken the functionality of Extend Unlock, including Trusted Places, Trusted devices, and On-body detection. Additionally, I'm seeing a minor but related issue with the Trusted Places menu screen's rotation.

DEVICE INFORMATION:

ā— Tablet Model: Samsung Galaxy S9 FE+ 5G (SM-X818U)

ā— One UI Version: 6.1.1

ā— Android Version: 14

ā— Build Number: X818USQU5BYA6 / X818UOYN5BYA6 / X818USQU5BYA6

ā— Security Patch Level: January 1, 2025

PROBLEM DETAILS:

ā— Since the February 2025 One UI update, the entire 'Extend Unlock' feature is non-functional. Existing and newly added Trusted Places, Trusted devices, and On-body detection are completely ignored. The tablet remains locked even when these conditions are met.

ā— Specifically regarding Trusted Places, when I delete a Trusted Place, it reappears shortly after, preventing me from properly managing my Smart Lock settings.

ā— There are no error messages related to the Extend Unlock feature.

ā— There is a minor related issue where the Trusted Places menu screen rotates to Portrait View while the tablet is locked in Landscape View.

ā— The impact is that the tablet will not utilize any of the extend unlock features, and the device will remain locked in locations and situations where it previously would unlock.

STEPS I'VE TRIED:

ā— Restarted the tablet multiple times.

ā— Cleared the cache and data for Google Play Services.

ā— Verified that my location services are enabled and set to high accuracy.

ā— Ensured Google Location History is active.

ā— Deleted all trusted places, restarted the tablet, and then re-added trusted places.

ā— Booted the tablet into safe mode, and the problem still occurs.

ā— Ensured that the tablet is fully up to date with all available updates.

ā— Tried adding and removing trusted devices.

ā— Tried enabling and disabling on body detection.

ADDITIONAL CONTENT:

ā— This issue started immediately after the February 2025 One UI update.

ā— I have not installed any new location or bluetooth based applications recently.

ā— The rotation issue is only present in the trusted places menu, and only while the device is locked in landscape mode.

Has anyone else experienced these issues, or does anyone have any suggestions for resolving them?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
