Samsung Galaxy S6 pen

What is the life expectancy of a Samsung Galaxy S6 pen? The pen is the original and I keep getting notifications that the pen is disconnected. I've ensured that the pen and tablet surfaces are clean and the pen is properly housed and correct .

Perhaps the pen needs replacement.

Just wanna play 😈 advocate here - the tab 6 came out 6 years this July. I'm gonna say 6 years is a pretty good life expectancy for the original pen.
