TabletsThey can change UI as many times as they want, and it would still be bad.
There's every sort of scaling issue on apps.
Don't believe me? Try to launch GeForce Now or Windows App and watch Dex fail catastrophically in properly determining the size of windows.
Sure, if you just launch a browser everything is fine, but that's not the point of Dex: the point is superior productivity or superior gaming experience, and both are broken.
Plus, they removed the "external display only" feature.
This is a cost-saving measure disguised as innovation: they removed the classic Dex to offload the development effort on the Android team, who are maintaining Android desktop mode, which the "new Dex" is just a skin of.
It's a bad decision and it's just terrible that we're at Beta 3 and they have not understood that this is wrong despite all the discussions that were made on this forum and on reddit about how bad this is.
At this point, because Android desktop mode is available also on Pixels and every other Android phone out there, it should be clear to them that they are getting rid of a huge differentiating point that objectively made Samsung phones better than the competition.
Same thing with the Exynos chips that will be part of the next generation of phones, when it's super clear that Snapdragons are much better. I could go on forever, on things like the entire Android Virtualization framework being unavailable on Samsung phones, but at this point it is clear that nobody is listening.

TabletsIt's not even close to an old dad complaining, it's just simple; If it ain't broke, don't fix it. In Classic dex it was perfect. How am I gonna make the app fullscreen, loose statusbar, keep the taskbar with the clock and the notification panel and battery? Why? Because I f want to, this device is mine I paid for it and I want to use however I f fit.

This is really disappointing. I recently switched from apple to android/Samsung for the specific reason that my phone could also be my computer (I do 99% of my computing tasks through the web/apps). I am going to have to intentionally NOT update my new Samsung Galaxy s25 to the new OS version if they don't fix Dex, because Dex is now my computer (no more MacBook).

TabletsI used my tablet for school instead of a heavy laptop because it was more compact, smaller, and easier to carry around. Now, after the One Ul 8 update, I only have a single tablet home screen instead of the proper desktop environment I relied on. I specifically bought the Samsung keyboard for around €200 to take full advantage of Dex, and now it feels completely useless.

This move to me is super anti-consumer, its great that you want to unify the desktop experience for android with google but and here is a crazy idea, how about you let us keep Dex classic mode until Android desktop is in actual working order and has all the features Dex has.
The only reason I bought a Samsung tab s was to use Dex, which now with the update of on UI 8 just doesn't work on the tablet, you NEED to connect to an external display , you can't just start Dex...
Honestly is stuff like this that really makes me question if I'll buy another Samsung product.

TabletsThis has made my tab s9 ultra completely unusable for me. Only used dex. As it was a lighter laptop almost for me. Considering selling it now

What do they mean by removing Dex? The most significant feature the sold with their tablets!
It's a kind of fraud to sell a device with a feature and then make it unavailable. I've been using Samsung tablets since Note 10.1 (2014) for more than 10 years now and I at least expected some customer respect. This will make my Samsung tablet totally unusable for me which will force me to give up on Samsung tablets.
Samsung must consider that if I (and almost every other Samsung tablet user) wanted to carry a 2Kg laptop every day i would take my HP powerful laptop and nobody actually buys a dumb Samsung one!
