Tabletsif you want classic experience it's really simple, keep one of your S or Z series with One UI 6.1 or 7.0 (i recommend 6.1 though), nobody forced you to update to newest software version, so if there's something you wanted to keep then don't update your software

TabletsWe all cannot run old tech, mostly bc the integrated batteries will fail and cost a lot to repair, and cellular carriers will abandon that old tech hardware too..
What i feel the OP is crying out for is reasons, what are the reasons we're losing some of the power things like DeX gave us.., I'd love to know the reasons too..
I lost DeX on my Flip, no reason..? Yes sir, there were reasons and I saw the end of DeX as writing on the wall back then, I too was bummed, I was not gaining, I was losing, the Flips are ultra-lite jewelry, they burn up trying to run DeX's heavy and powerful features, those features had to go, get trimmed, so all of Samsung fans could run DeX(lite) on their watches and rings and IoT things..
Heck, even my lil'pritty Flip succumbed to (literally) Hot-Spotting, and i bought a phone designed to run good ol'DeX like my Flip couldn't, but alas, we may not even get two DeX apps, we may all be getting just DeX-lite. =(

TabletsI personally like having DeX, not DeX lite, but there's a few alternatives and I suppose we could see more later.

TabletsJust bc Samsung makes a trend of choices doesn't mean they're not "listening" to consumers, it means they're trying to survive profitably to continue to make phones for everyone tomorrow!
Will DeX sell phones in India? ..or China? ..or the EU? Is our North American market that big, and is the DeX classic capable sub-market bigger than the DeX-lite market worldwide..?
Really, try seeing a bigger world view, Samsung is only one against many competitors, as is Apple, we may actually lose both as you'll see soon once the CAN/USA market looks around and sees what the other companies can give as deals, expect better, but expect some changes..

Worse. Apple at least charts their own way. Samsung is giving up one of the things that makes their ecosystem different from the generic android sphere. And for what? For google half baked, not ready for prime time, mobile desktop service. Maybe Google will polish the feature or maybe they will slow boat it. What is sure is that Samsung is now out of the driver's seat on a technology that a lot of their business customers rely upon and have ceded the control to Google. At least Apple keeps control over their own products.
