Samsung Notes has updated automatically and now the recording icon is visible on the screen (see photo).

How can I hide it? I don't want it in view

Should I reinstall the previous version of Samsung Notes? ..I don't want to risk deleting the notes!

For me it is mandatory to go back to the previous version, where that icon was not visible

Did you try long pressing on the NOTES icon to see if it gives you an option to remove the most recent update?

Other than not wanting to see it, why do you *need* to go back to the previous version where it is not visible?  It's just a controller bar and if you don't want your notes to record it allows you to turn the recording off.   What version of notes did it update to?  The only way to revert to an earlier version would be to find the earlier version you want on a site like APK mirror, uninstall your current version and install the old version and make sure auto update is off.  I don't have the ability to record in my notes app, perhaps it's different on phones and tablets.  Surely there must be something in the settings to turn off the recording feature.  If you have your notes synced with Samsung Cloud or have them backed up somewhere, uninstalling the app should not delete them.  You can insure this by using Smart Switch to back them up to a flash drive or SD card.  For heaven's sake, it's only an icon and it does not affect *anything* you do with your notes, why does it irritate you to the point of hysteria?

That is the same version I have on my phone, but I have no capacity to record notes, nor do I have that icon. My notes don't even look like that (my menus are at the bottom, above the keyboard - must be a difference between a tablet version and phone version). Are you sure you don't have some recording app running at the same time?

Incidentally, you *should* back up your notes somewhere in case disaster happens.

I understand you are using a Tablet, I did read which category you posted in. I was merely observing that even though the version numbers are the same for our Samsung Notes app, the tablet version appears to have different features and format.  On my phone (I don't know about all the phones), there is no capacity to record.  I don't really see why it would even be necessary to do so (except perhaps to add anecdotes that don't belong in the notes?). After all, the whole purpose of the notes is to have a written record of --- notes.  So, I am even puzzled by the fact that a) it exists at all or b) why they chose to make it visible. Could it be it's only visible when actively recording?

I have about 20gb of notes so I think I won't risk corrupting them or losing them ... I think I'll leave that icon, as much as I don't want it

I also use it often at work to record and share the screen, and for personal reasons I would not want it to show.

In the old versions it was perfect, there was a dropdown you could hide in the upper right corner

That looks like the recording indicator of the screen recorder. Are you sure you aren't using that? I don't understand the need to screen record a note taking program.
