Close all button will not close all apps, just sends me to home screen

After the One UI 8.0 (Android 16) update. Close All button fails to close any apps and just sends me to home screen. Has anyone had this problem and suggest a fix?

I am also having an issue with the close all button on my tablet running oneui 8. I have tried everything thats been suggested but nothing works.

Still having this issue, even with the December 2025 software update...

Still can't get close all to work on S10+ tablet. Apps are still showing through restarts as well.

I found out that disabling freeform windows in developer options was casing the problem for my Tab S9. I turned it back on and now it works again.

Thanks for sharing. Enabling Freeform Windows also fixed the issue for me.
