Has anyone else noticed that the new Linux terminal app doesn't even work on some galaxy phones?

I'm using an S24, and whenever I try the installer, it errors out, saying "unprotected virtual machines aren't supported"
I think it's rather funny that an app google designed doesn't even run, on their own OS.
From what I've heard, it might be an issue with snapdragon CPUs, or Knox. I don't know which one if at all.

If it's the first one:
I get that not ALL phones run snapdragon chips, but one metric I found says that over 1,000 different kinds of phones do!

If it's the second:
According to counterpointresearch.com, Samsung holds around 20% of the mobile phone market! (Knox being a Samsung thing...)

Either way, any excuse is pretty bad, as they're letting down no small crowd.

Same situation on my Zfold6... I've been a Samsung user from day 1. But the past few years I get more and more reasons to switch.

But I don't want to switch, I just want my native terminal app 😭
Just give me sudo, I promise not to blow up canada.

Ideally, I would rather stay with Samsung. However Pixel is easily able to access root and use the terminal. But if you are really need something use Termux?

Yeah, I could, but Termux is an an emulator, not a virtual machine.
I doubt it could install games, or window managers, or other proper apt packages.

Just a heads up, don't buy a pixel fold, they were just found to catch fire when the hinge fails. JerryRigEverything did a video on it, on YouTube.
