Samsung Apps and ServicesDoes this reset make you lose you streaming apps and all you preferences and setting on your TV? That could take hours or days.

Samsung Apps and ServicesYes, but as long as you have your TV set to back up to your Samsung account, it restores it all. You will have to log in to the apps again, but the QR codes make that easy.

Samsung Apps and ServicesI ended up contacting Samsung customer service about this. They suggested that I create a hotspot on my cell phone. Connect the TV to the hotspot as well as another device and try the registration process again.
To my surprise it worked. I've looked it on my router settings and I don't understand why the registration process would partially complete but then fail at the actual registration step. I don't see any settings that would prevent successful connection.
Following the registration I've put everything back the way it is normally (TV connected via ethernet, cell phone via Wi-Fi). Everything continued to work and I was able to connect it to Google home and use my voice to power the TV off and on.
Given that I was able to connect the TV in the past without all of this rigmarole, I suspect there is something in a recent release of the app that is preventing the registration from occurring because of some esoteric network setting.
However, I'm just glad it's working.
