I noticed another user already proposed this same request (Stay on lock screen after fingerprint unlock - Samsung Community) over a year ago, but the feature still hasn't been added. One UI is a system I really love, yet this function is extremely important for devices integrated with touch fingerprint recognition – like the Galaxy Z Fold7.
When I'm out and about holding the phone, the screen lights up and my finger often rests right on the fingerprint sensor. This causes the phone to unlock automatically and go straight to the home screen without me even noticing while walking. It would be much more convenient if the phone didn't directly enter the home screen after fingerprint authentication.
I'm re-submitting this request. Thank you!

Let me add a second usage scenario. When you place the phone on a table, sometimes you just want to double-tap the screen to wake it up and glance at the notification content. But right now, I have to unlock the phone to view the details. Using the fingerprint unlock takes me straight to the home screen, while all I want is to stay on the lock screen to check the notifications. That’s why I end up having to pick up the phone, use face recognition to unlock it (without entering the home screen), check the notifications, and then put it back down again.
Please don’t suggest the setting that allows viewing lock screen notifications without unlocking.

My final request is to add an option for fingerprint unlock: "Do not go to the home screen after unlocking", just like the face unlock feature. I hope One UI will keep getting better and more user-friendly. Thank you.

You mentioned that "sometimes you just want to double-tap the screen to wake it up and glance at the notification content".  You can double tap it even when you are holding it.  The purpose of the fingerprint unlock is to UNLOCK THE PHONE, not keep it on the lock screen so, naturally, its intent is to bring you to your home screen.  This is not going to change, as I said, there's a reason it wasn't implemented - either because the behavior doesn't need changing or they got very little feedback request for it.  However, as this is a user to user help area, your "feature request" is best delivered directly to the the development team via the feedback link in the support tab.

You added your "scenarios" after your initial post.  Your original post appeared to be a complaint about holding your phone in your hand while walking and how your finger seems to always find the fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone, so don't chastise people for "not reading your post".  In the future, if you are posting a feature request, it would be made more evident if you actually included that tag in the title and in post tags.

If you’re not an official staff member, please don’t post irrelevant comments here. Double-tapping the screen is for unlocking the phone—that’s your intention, not everyone else’s. How do you explain the option to stay on the lock screen after face recognition? Are you saying Samsung does it just because Apple does?
Do you have any idea how many users are willing to go through the hassle of registering an account just to submit a feature request? There’s a clear operational cost to that, which doesn’t mean no one has encountered this issue.
Besides, you seem to think I’m complaining. Let me ask you this—why would I suggest a feature if I hadn’t run into a problem? I was merely describing an issue I faced. So as a user, am I not allowed to point out problems? Does every user concern automatically count as a complaint in your eyes?
One UI is a system that takes user experience extremely seriously with meticulous attention to detail in every interaction. That’s why I believe the official team will consider my suggestion if they see it. Your inappropriate comments will only damage Samsung’s brand image.

This a a user forum. I can comment on any post I want. That you don't like the comment does not make it irrelevant. "Official Samsung staff" do not frequent the forum, only moderators. If you want to put in a feature request, you do it via the feedback link in the support tab. You have to register and be logged into your Samsung account to use your phone and to access this members app, so there is no "going through the hassle" of registering just to put in a feature request.  Even if that were the case, if a feature is important to  you, then that's what you have to do.

Oh, and by the way, the scenario you created about not being able to see the notification detail on your lock screen?  You most certainly can by adjusting your notification settings to show details on lock screen.  If, as you say, facial recognition unlock keeps you on the lock screen, just unlock your phone that way and forgo the fingerprint. Or, here's a thought, just tap the power button to turn  your screen on and, presto, you are still on the lock screen.

The fact that this hasn't been implemented is likely because out of tens of millions of Samsung user, *one* user made a request a year ago.  And now there are two requests, assuming you did not make the first one, and you won't even bother to put in the proper feedback to request the feature.  Sending feedback is the ONLY way to get your idea in front of the developers which still doesn't mean it will ever be implemented.

You have no idea how many people have submitted similar requests, because you’re not an official staff member. If you actually want to help us, I think the best way is to directly share the link for submitting formal feedback—I can also try to find it myself.
Besides, posting this issue here allows other users who’ve run into the same problem to find this thread via Google. That’s exactly how I found the original post in the first place.

Oh, but I do have an idea how many people have submitted similar requests, because it has not been implemented.  Whether something gets implemented depends entirely upon how many requests relative to the user base gets submitted DIRECTLY TO THE SAMSUNG DEVELOPERS.  I don't need to know the exact count. I don't have to be an "official Samsung staff" member to know this OR to respond to your  (or anybody's) posts.   I know, that like you, they post on reddit, they post here, they post everywhere EXCEPT where they are supposed to request - and the ONLY avenue that counts for requests for features - the feedback link.  Yes you can, and should, try to find the link for yourself, it's not hard, but I am going to supply it anyway. https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/How-to-Send-Feedback/ba-p/3001692  I don't understand why you can't find it, you managed to find a post from a year ago with this request, and the feedback link is in almost every single post at least once, so should come up easily in a search.

First of all, I have no idea who you are or what you do. Second, if you think I posted this in the wrong place, you should have pointed it out directly from the start, instead of telling me to "Keep your finger off the fingerprint scanner...". Last but not least, where I choose to post seems to be none of your business, I thought this was the right place to post. I never said I couldn’t find the correct spot—you’re always assuming things about what others think.
I’m a software engineer, not a novice user. Not everyone posting here is a newbie, so don’t act like you’re lecturing others. Your comment—"In my entire life, I have never accidentally hit the fingerprint scanner while holding or picking up my phone"—sounds more like a complaint than anything else.
Now this thread has turned into a private argument between us. Your remarks will only mislead other users into thinking that I, the poster, am in the wrong. Just because you’ve never run into this issue doesn’t mean no one else can bring it up. If you were in charge of designing OneUI, it would surely be a terrible system.
If you were just trying to be helpful, then I’ll say it again—thank you for your reply and the link you shared.

Seven days, five views, no likes - that should give *you* some idea about how much interest the community has in this option and why it hasn't been brought up again until now.

Are you asking for a second action like swipe up that face unlock has when it is enable for for fingerprint unlock?

This would have been helpful to state this in the body of the text rather than sending us to a post to learn what you are asking for.

I linked the relevant URLs to help the official team collect user feedback as comprehensively as possible.
