Fingerprint Unlock Animations!!!

Seems nice, but why would I need animations, I just want my phone to unlock.

It's a fun little quality of life enhancement. OnePlus has had fingerprint animations for quite some time. It's nice to see Samsung finally doing something like this.

Thats a fair point, I have just seen a couple of people wanting this, so it seems like a popular thing that people want.

Yes, I know people have been asking for it, and I'm glad they have it, but I still have to wonder .... why?  And does it animate only when the fingerprint is correct?  I can see some toddler discovering the animation and just pressing all until the battery is drained.

Wouldn't it ask for a PIN or password after 5 incorrect fingerprint attempts? No real danger of the battery draining.
