Spam telephone and media volume issues using Do not Disturb function with Modes and Routines

I installed the Modes and Routines, MAR app and turned on Do Not Disturb, DND.  With DND on,  i allowed only contacts and repeat callers to access the telephone and I received ring sounds when receiving a telephone call.   This helps to eliminate Spam telephone calls HOWEVER  in this mode i can no longer play music.  The DND turns the volume off.    I have to physically turn off DND icon.  So it defeats the main purpose. 

Question

How can i use Modes and Routines, enable Do Not Disturb function and still listen to music?

Modes and Routines

** I enabled Sounds Modes & Volume and Media volume within MAR. 

** I set the volume to maximize settings.

**Restrict Apps and I enabled Amazon music app to be used

@Sirrdavid I'm not sure what you installed. There is no need to install anything. Modes and Routines is part of the OS. 

I frequently use DND and never had an issue with music playing, it does not silence the sound. I just gave it a try to verify and I can play music while DND is enabled.

I had no issue either as @LongHiker stated. Modes and Routines comes installed. The last time I checked it's unavailable to download in the Samsung store. The one in the Playstore isn't the same app.

The Modes and Routines that i am referring to is from Samsung not the Google Play Store.  I double check Google Play store it is not installed.

Interesting I initially installed Modes and Routines from Google store then realize my mistake.  I uninstalled it so I'm hoping this is not causing an issue with the Samsung Modes in Routine

From what I have experienced (and there's a lot more knowledgeable people on here then me) not all routines work. On a routine I created it had a note from Samsung that they are still learning how this routine will work for me, so I may get unexpected results.

I am in agreement with the others.  if you downloaded the imposter Modes and Routines app from the Play store, uninstall it pronto.  Both Modes & Routines and Do Not disturb are part of OneUI, and nothing needs to be downloaded at all.  MAR is part of the Bixby infrastructure. DND, I believe, is part of Android and exists on all Android phones (I could be wrong about that).  I believe that the app in the Play store is meant for those who do not have Samsung phones and want to be able to create routines.  That you have installed it on your phone, it is likely interfering with the native app. There is nothing in DND that would restrict your usage of media while it's on.

In looking over your routine, it appears that you need to either unrestrict your music app or just eliminate the restrict app usage parameter. That parameter us for people who find it hard to stop using certain apps when they want to relax. You also need to remove the sound mode on - it defeats DND and your exveptions will come through just fine. Your media sound settings look correct and you don't need sound mode on.

Is this a custom mode you are creating, or are you modifying an existing one. If you tell me what you are trying to accomplish with this mode, I can tell you what settings to use.
