After a recent upgrade to One UI 8.0, programs within Secure Folder cannot access files also within Secure Folder.

In particular, the Secure Folder versions of Snapseed (photo editing), Protonmail, and Discord cannot find secured files.  Google photos, and Samsung Gallery seem unaffected.

Any help?

I am wondering that not more people are complaining about that secure folder problem.

There are the following reasons for this:
- only a few people use secure folder
- they give a **bleep**
- they do not get the problem

Who has the problem, that apps INSIDE the secure folder cannot access files that are located inside the secure folder?

I assume not many use the Secure Folder and among those who do, not many use apps that read data from or save data to files stored in the Secure Folder.

I hope Samsung is not planning to do away with the Secure Folder, or replace it with what the Google Pixel has.

I agree. Pixel's "secure folder" is bull **bleep**, with its 4 digit pin

What is bad about it? Looking at comparison videos they seem functionally the same.

I'm seriously thinking about jumping ship after nearly 14 years to a Pixel.

I have only seen videos of Google Private Space but it appears to be clunkier than Samsung Secure Folder. The Secure folder appears like it has its own separate environment of file storage and apps. It also supports multiple Google addresses, creation of app folders, has its own settings, allows moving files between the phone and secure folder, and can be backed up and restored; almost like a phone within a phone. Private Spaces seems is visible at the bottom of the App Drawer and cannot do some of the things listed above.

However, if the secure folder bug is not fixed, it is totally worthless if you use it for apps that need to open and save files in the secure folder.

Got the December update for my S23 Ultra and this bug still persists. Looks like Samsung is not serious about fixing this issue, whether it is theirs or Google's, despite it being reported as a bug in the Members app.

6 months same issue still ongoing. No fix from Samsung or Google. Its crazy that people are a still getting updated and still encountering this issue too. Anyway I moved on my fold is my day to day phone and I've got my privacy stuff has moved to graphene with a 1tb phone. An actual secure platform that will hopefully hold me into 2030+. I'll still play with my Samsung toys here and there but Samsung has really lost its way ( AI this and AI that, No one cares, its all just constant data theft ). #SamsungSucks
