Screen wake when receiving notifications

Whenever I get a notification my screen turns on for a second before shutting off and it is more annoying than useful but I can't find a way to shut it off. I know that you can use brief notifications to only show the pop up while the screen remains off but I don't like using them while I'm actively using my phone. Please, let me know if there's a way to fix this or how can I request Samsung to add the availability to stop screen wake from notifications.

Hi Cameran209, Welcome to the Community. We understand having the screen wake-up with notifications can be frustrating. 

Have you tried the following? Settings>Notifications>Notification pop-up style>Toggle off "Show even while screen is off"

My notifications are set to "Detailed" so that's not the issue, it's with every notification style and even if notifications are off for the lock screen. I will be sending feedback, thank you.
