Can someone please tell me how to disable/remove modes and routines. I DID NOT ASK for it, I don't want it especially it's sole purpose is to track every minute of my day. I can't remove notifications for it, I can't remove it from my drop down bar. Dear god make it go away!!

Based on seeing feedback no one seems to want this.

No I didn't activate it. I only noticed it after this update in the drop-down. I have deactivated as much as possible on it, which isn't much. I don't want it there.

I don't want applications that track everything on my phone. It's just that simple. I don't download apps that need permissions to EVERYTHING and since it is my phone I should have that right. But I guess samsung thinks differently.

However it got activated, all you have to do is dismiss it/adjust the parameters so it doesn't activate automatically, or delete it. Once again, nothing in modes or routines track you unless you specifically set a parameter for it. Which mode got turned on? I can definitively tell you that none of the preconfigured modes does any tracking whatsoever, none of them are set to automatically activate, and there are no preconfigured routines. If you had a mode or routine on, you (or someone who had access to your phone) activated it accidentally or deliberately. You may have hit the quick panel icon - it happens.

It does not matter whether or not you want modes & routines on your phone. It's there. It's part of the UI. If you don't want to accidentally activate a mode, go to settings/modes and routines, and delete each preconfigured mode and remove the quick panel icon off your quick panel. Or, just leave them be and be careful not to accidentally turn one on. If you do accidentally turn one on, turn it off.

If you don't want even the ability to create a mode or routine, I suggest you buy another brand. Only Samsung UI has this feature.

Lastly, if you live in paranoia of being tracked, you need to give up your electronic devices.  Even if you turn off all location services, the cell towers track your location.  You are always being tracked.

That will probably be my step, which sucks because I've always had a galaxy phone since the S3.

So, you are going to toss your phone because of modes and routines?  A feature that does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, unless you, yourself, create a mode and/or turn one on.  You really need to learn how things work.  If you are concerned about being tracked, just go live off the grid in a cabin in the woods.  As I said EVERY phone is tracking you.  One day, when you learn what modes and routines actually does, you may come to regret not having a phone that can automate certain processes for you instead of having to manually perform multiple actions manually repeatedly.  Good Luck with whatever new device you choose.

if you've had a Samsung phone for a while, modes & routines were present since at least OneUI5.0, perhaps even before (I don't know I didn't have Samsung prior to that), and you are first now discovering that they exist and one got accidentally activated? Something easily enough turned off.

Why are you so defensive? I work in IT and I am very much aware of how things work.

If it does absolutely nothing why is it incorporated into the OS? Why can't I remove it? Show me the system and app logs that nothing is happening. Why do I not have the ability to choose which apps I do and don't want on my device? I never said I wanted to live off grid, but I do and should have the ability to limit what's tracking especially on my own personal devices.

No need to answer, you don't have to agree with me, but snide comments aren't needed either.

It's incorporated into the OS because it is part of Bixby.  This just gives you the ability to automate some processes without having to call on the assistant.  Many people find them useful to automate repetitive processes. For instance, let's take Theater mode.  As originally configured, it is a manual activation - you have to actually turn it on yourself (unless you choose to automate it), and all it does is turns on do not disturb, and mutes your sounds in case there are notifications you want to get through dnd.  If you were really in IT, you would know it's a benign feature and that you cannot remove it from the OS.  Sleep mode turns on DND and greys out the screen so that if you pick up your phone in the middle of the night you are not lighting up the whole room or hurting your eyes.  None of the pre-configured modes are automatic unless *you* add the parameter to make it so, and NONE of them have tracking activity.  You want to see logs? Start the process of putting in an error report, the logs are collected automatically and downloaded to your phone.  You can then open the logs and pour through the code.

You don't get to pick and choose which parts of the operating system/UI you want on your phone.  You purchased Samsung presumably for its unique features. You get to choose which apps you download or uninstall, just like with a PC. As I said before, they have been there since at least whenever the S9 came out and whatever UI/OS that was.  It was certainly on My S10, which ended with OneUI5.1/Android 13, so how is it you never noticed it before?  It's because you accidentally turned one on.  If any of your previous phones had OneUI5.0 or higher, modes and routines were present.  If you do not want modes and routines on your phone you will have to go to a non-Samsung phone.

Once again, I am telling you that there is NO TRACKING going on in modes and routines. Paranoia is a horrible affliction.

Hello Melissak0421, Welcome to the Community.

As the other Members have stated, Modes and Routines cannot be removed. It is only enabled by the user of the phone. Here is a link with details for using the feature: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10002538/
