Notification sounds download issue

I have a couple of custom ringtone apps and now notification sounds are not showing up in my settings. 

Ringtones, contacts, alarms are working fine.

No error messages from the apps. It's frustrating that it doesn't show up and it's back to the default sound.

I wouldn't be going through this if Samsung had decent sounds, but they aren't at all.

I tried solving this with no success at all.

Is there a fix for this and why is it only notifications?

Are the sound files you downloaded located in your "notifications" folder? Are they in ogg, mp3, wav or midi format?

Have you checked my files to see if it is there under download or music?
