I can't get older messages from 1 person and I know we have a lot it's only given me 3 months how can I get the others back

Ive had the same problem. Samsung took my comment down because it was already "resloved".
It took almost 2 weeks. Im not sure what it was but eventually itll work.
Samsung has been very poor lately with their phones.

Facebook Messenger? That would be either a Meta issue or something in the app settings that restricts showing messages older than a certain time. Do they show if you go to messenger in a browser? In any case, not a Samsung restriction/issue. If you mean Samsung *Messages*, there is definitely a setting there to delete messages over 30 days. If that's turned on, then your messages are gone unless they are backed up somewhere or in the trash.

I had an issue where I was not receiving calls from a few of my contacts but not all contacts. Turned out to needing a new Sim card and having my carrier reset my account.
