Every time I get an update on one of my devices, I have to go behind the update, every single time to turn off everything that would be, or could be, draining my battery. I've gotten it down to a science now. But none of the stuff that you're pushing out should be happening by default. Because all it does is drain. people's battery.

That's why you get so many complaints about battery. Because all this default stuff that you pump out in your updates is what is causing it. And unless these people know how to turn that off, then they're going to keep complaining about battery draining.

My routine:

1. Put every app in deep sleep mode.
2. Turn off running in the background for every app I do not want running in the background.
3. Disabling apps I do not use that you turn on by default.
4. Turning off permissions.
5. Keeping apps from using data, only wifi.

This is the short list.

On all my devices I get 4 days battery life. This is what you should be shooting for and pushing out with all your updates. There would be less complaints.

I don't put every app in deep sleep mode because doing so disables updates until I re-enable the app. However, I put apps that I don't use frequently in sleep mode and update them a few times a month.

I do the same for all other actions, even disabling background mobile data usage for all apps except those that I want.

Computing is personal. I'm seeking max battery not updating for my usage. I update my own apps. But whatever works for you. Sounds like you found a way. 😂

Devices are meant to be used.  I suppose if you want maximum battery life, you could not use the phone, but that defeats it's purpose, doesn't it?  That's why they have chargers. Your phone has an adaptive battery and after every update the battery needs to learn your usage patterns all over again as if it were new.  This is why it appears your battery is draining faster after an update.

I use my phone. Why I want max battery life. On it is over 250 apps, which I have carefully laid out in easy to access folders. I can design and edit videos on it. I use it for posting content, too. In between, reading, listening to podcasts, or watching videos. i have a double sim card model. Plus, the banking, communication, and productivity apps. I even have two open source AI models on it that work offline. My homescreens are dashboards. I'm a power user.

And 24 hours is divided into day and night.  You can put your phone on the charger while you sleep - unless you power use during your sleep.  Even with all your optimizing, you will eventually have to put the phone on the charger, so you may as well do it nightly.

My phone's battery lasts a long time because I don't charge every day. I can forget about when was the last time I charged it. I don't have to worry about that. I like that and
I'm still using my Note20 from years ago. And the battery is still in very good shape, because I don't charge it every day. I've never have, but it's always had like 4 days of battery life. I have a newer phone. I use both of them for different purposes. If the power goes out, i'm not worried cuz my my phone is good for at least 3 days if it's just charged. It's good for 4 days.
