Samsung Apps and Services@drrw As a frequent user of SmartThings, I have not seen anything like this. Can you post a screenshot?

Samsung Apps and ServicesIt's a Samsung app on a Samsung phone with Samsung Software. They can advertise their products. They have ads for their products on the discover page of the Members app, as well. Let us not forget the inanities they add to the Health app - not exactly advertisements, but things no one wants. It should only appear once (or once a day, I'm not sure), and if you hit dismiss, the next time you open the app, you won't see it. If you don't hit dismiss, you will keep seeing it.
You purchased the phone. You own the hardware. The software (for any app, not just Samsung) is licensed to the end user and is owned by the developer (Samsung), and the developer can put whatever they want in their apps. You agreed to the EULA when you set up the phone and the app. Open the Smart Things App, access the settings, scroll to "about Smart Things" and then read the terms of service.

Samsung Apps and Services@drrw Have you tried turning off "Special suggestions" in the SmartThings settings?

Samsung Apps and Services@LongHiker I have always had that setting turned off. I still see the advertisement. As I said above, it's so innocuous to me that it barely registers in my brain. I also find it no surprise that Samsung would promote its other products to Samsung users from within a Samsung app. Admittedly, I enter the actual Smart Things app rarely, as I control my devices through either the "device control" icon in the control/quick panel, the Smart Things app on my watch, or a routine or schedule.
