can someone possibly help me understand how I can get my old information from my Samsung phone I had? I actually don't have the physical phone anymore but I have access to the backup through my Samsung account...I was wondering if there is a way for me to access my information that was backed up from that phone? Please help ASAP, this may be a stupid question but it's an honest one...thank you

Samsung Apps and ServicesYou can download it as a restored backup to your current phone (if it's a Samsung device). It will not restore personal data that was in your download folder or other personally created folders, as they are not contained in either the Samsung Backup or Google Backup. Google backup should have downloaded automatically when you signed your new device into your Google account. Samsung backup can be restored selectively or the whole backup - it will not create duplicates of anything you already have on your new device. It is not possible to read the data in either the Google or Samsung backup, it must be restored to a device.
What information are you looking to retrieve? Some things are backed up to certain areas of Google that you *can* access from a web browser, so if you do not yet have another phone, but have a computer you can view and access that information. Photos would be in photos.google.com, contacts would be in contacts.google.com.
