Gallery editor not replacing original pic?

I edited a screenshot to remove the top and bottom and Saved it. I uploaded the edited image to a posting on a support community forum, and the top and bottom appeared!

Gallery displays the pic without the top and bottom.

You probably saved a copy

I searched my phone, and there are 2 copies: neither has the top/bottom portion.
Both have the "Revert to original" option.
It almost seems like the Upload option from the other Community app could access the original screenshot image.
