Background Video Play Issue

Good day everyone. For years I've been using Samsung Internet for it's video background play feature. But all of a sudden it's no longer working. Videos now stop playing when I go to other apps and turn off the phone, even though the "Background video play" option is turned on.

At first I thought the issue was with the Samsung Internet app only, but I'm getting the same problem with Brave Bowser as well. So I'm thinking there is my phone is suddenly having issues playing background videos in bowsers. 

This problem started this morning around 6:00 (Guyana time).

Anyone have an idea what the issue may be? And is there a fix?

My phone is Galaxy F13, android version 14, OneUI version 6.1. The model name is SM-E135F/DS

Don't get the sense in blocking that feature. Not like listening to videos in the background on your phone would cause any kind of copyright or community standard problems

There is one drawback i feel with the desktop method is that the ad blocker is not working on YouTube videos so videos are always interrupted.
