This system is grossly anti consumer. What could have been an accessory is now a nightmare. Turning thousands of dollars into garbage is unforgivable. Making a tv only functional with an external piece thats cost several hundreds of dollars if it even available is disgusting. Samsung has lost my business completely. They've destroyed their phones functionality, made their tv lines a nightmare, and of course their home appliances are known garbage. This is me saying goodbye to this company forever. I use to encourage people to buy their products but now I'll warn them.
The One Connect Box is a solution to get the Frame TVs as thin as possible by relocating essential components into a box that can be hidden. This is the primary selling point of Frame TVs.
If you believe this product to be "grossly anti-consumer" then don't buy one. Samsung makes plenty of televisions that are more utilitarian in nature and have all components contained within the main unit, at the cost of added thickness.
To have both an extremely thin TV like the Frame sit flush with the wall, have no visible cords or ports, AND have the components inside the unit rather than external to it is virtually impossible with current consumer tech.
As for the "destruction of phone functionality" I have no idea what you're talking about. Compare Samsung flagships to their primary competitors and there is virtually no difference in terms of functionality, with the exception of areas where Samsung exceeds their primary competitors by offering a broader set of features.
As for home appliances, I'm sure there are people who have had issues with them, but I have yet to meet those people IRL. Everyone I personally know with Samsung appliances is a satisfied customer and has used their appliances for years.
Beyond all this, the primary function of this forum is peer-to-peer tech support. If you have a problem that other users can help you solve, please ask a question related to that issue so other users can help you.
If you are just here to air grievances, you are allowed to do that, but be aware that you are unlikely to reach anyone of importance at Samsung by doing so.
