Monitors and MemoryI recently bought a Samsung Viewfinity S9. Iām using it with my MacBook Air M3, connecting the MacBook via the Thunderbolt 4 cable that came with the monitor.
However, I have an issue with an electrical noise (probably coil whine) coming from the back. This problem occurs when I connect the monitor to the MacBookāa slight buzzing sound appears.
Thereās no noise when the mac is not connected or when itās in main interface of the monitor or in settings interface. The sound changes when I connect or disconnect the camera that came with the monitor. The sound changes when I remove the camera, and it changes again when I plug it back in.
Iām not sure if that sound is normal or not. Because, Itās very quiet, but in a silent room, itās quite disturbing.
Is there anyone having the same sound issue with the Samsung monitors? Do you think it is related to thunderbolt cable. Should i but a new cable or should i use miniDP port?

Monitors and MemoryUpdate from my analysis: the issue doesn't happen when on the OS (1405 or 2000) of the monitor. The issue doesn't either happen when on Windows. The issue only happens when on Mac OS (Sonoma for now, updating to Sequoia to check if it could sove the issue).

Monitors and MemoryEither do I. Exact the same issues with Mac Mini M4. Slightly changes the hiss with/without camera.
Extremely annoying issue for me.

Monitors and MemoryThey changed the motherboard but the annoyance is unfortunately back. I think itās a major construction problem or and a weak component which is too expensive or impossible to replace. I am pretty sure Samsung knows about the issue but they donāt want to recognise it due to costs. I will avoid Samsung next time and invest in an Apple Studio display.
