Monitors and MemoryHello everyone,
I own the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 49” (Model: G93SC / LS49CG932SNXZA) and I’ve been using it for around a year. The monitor has been great visually, but I recently had a serious issue with the JOG button (power/menu joystick) that really surprised me.
A few days ago, while using the JOG button to simply switch input sources — something completely normal — the button suddenly broke into two pieces in my hand. There was no impact, no accident, no misuse. It just snapped while rotating/pressing it the same way I’ve always done.
I contacted Samsung support since the monitor still has two years of warranty left, but they refused to cover it. I was told it counted as “physical damage,” even though the button has always felt a bit fragile and this clearly looks like a material or structural failure. A power/menu button should not fall apart under normal operation, especially on a premium monitor at this price point.
After searching online, I found multiple reports of JOG button failures on Odyssey models and other Samsung monitors, which makes me think this might be a recurring quality issue rather than user-caused damage.
It’s extremely disappointing that such an important control component can break so easily, and even more disappointing that Samsung doesn’t consider this a defect in materials or workmanship.
If anyone has had the same experience or found an official solution or replacement part for this model, I would really appreciate any advice.
