Today Samsung released the latest firmware version 6B2QJXD7 for Samsung 990 Pro SSDs. I tried to upgrade my 990 Pro to the latest firmware using Samsung Magician. However, every time I click on update I get an error message that reads: Failed to update firmware on selected drive. What is going on here? Windows 11 is detecting my SSD and the drive has no issues.
I tried updating the firmware via USB boot with the ISO file but I get a message that reads: "No supported SSD detected for firmware update." Does anyone know what the issue could be?

Monitors and MemoryI'm as well, but I haven't tried the USB method yet. I was going to try it next, after reading this article.

Monitors and MemoryCouldn't boot the USB method
Do have Secure boot Revocations activated for more secure system--not too sure on turning off Secure boot as i need it on For Windows 11 i do believe
Samsung says i'm at the latest versions somehow, has not notified for any other updates
Firmware versions for my 2 drives are as follows
Samsung 990 Pro 1TB with Heatsink-6B2QJXD7
Samsung 990 Pro 2TB-5B2QJXD7
So what heck i do now? keep checking Samsung Magician every morning with PC Admin account to see if it finally shows up? figure out how to turn off Secure boot, try to boot from USB drive again, do the Firmware update. (do i have to pick a distro when i remake the USB stick)?
Load Optimzied defaults for the UEFI bios, and hope and pray Secure boot comes back on with that.

Monitors and MemoryHello userEB52iOvUNU ,
If you are having issues updating firmware for your drive using both Magician software and the ISO tool, then there may be an issue with your current BIOS settings, as both tools do have certain requirements so that they can properly communicate with the drive. Even the slightest communication issue, may cause the firmware update to fail.
If possible, are you able to provide a screenshot of the "Drive details" option in Samsung Magician for further review ?

Monitors and MemoryI solved the issue!!! Apparently Samsung Magician doesn't act right if your SATA mode is in RAID. I booted into safe mode, went into my bios, switched the SATA mode from RAID to AHCI, and now I'm not having any issues. Magician recognizes my drive now. For some strange reason the latest update for the 990 Pro no longer appears in updates. Maybe Samsung is working on a new update or something. I'm just glad I was able to do this without installing Windows 11 which would be a pain in the rear. Thank you for all your responses.

Monitors and MemoryI had the same problem with my 2TB 990 Pro with Heatsink and the latest Samsung Magician and Windows 11. It said I had the latest firmware, even though it was version 5B2QJXD7.
I then used Rufus and built a bootable USB stick with the ISO file "Samsung_SSD_990_PRO_6B2QJXD7.iso"
I booted from my USB stick and it updated to the latest firmware 6B2QJXD7.
