I've a whole host of issues and let's see if some can be figured out:

  • Firstly, does this monitor support MST through displayport?
  • Secondly, this monitor has terrible input detection. When I turn my computer on I always have to manually turn the monitor on as well.
  • The monitor has a countdown timer when no input is detected and will enter standby after 60 seconds. The timer never moves and the monitor will remain on indefinitely unless manually turned off.
  • You can't change inputs unless the monitor detects a device is connected. Otherwise, that input is hidden. Even if the input works just fine, the monitor has no option to allow you to change inputs if *it* thinks there's nothing connected. There should, at minimum, be a way to pin the inputs to a quick access menu. I've succeeded for the HDMI input, but not displayport as the monitor doesn't believe anything is connected.
  • Why does the remote not have an input button? Literally the main reason for a remote, power and input. I assume this is to force you into the terribly laggy smart menus. Thanks marketing.
  • When using the voice function of the remote, the monitor OS will freeze for 45-60 seconds before rapidly catching up to any remote inputs you may have put it. I only used this to try and change the input, but sadly that doesn't work either.
  • Finally, why does a monitor released in 2024 only have 1 HDMI and 1 displayport connection? Most feature 3-4 inputs and some even have outputs now.

Thanks for taking the time to read. I've done a lot of googling and looking around the web as well as trying a host of different quality and length cables just to get this thing to stop black screening. I'm not sure if the problem was the cables or the auto-detection for game mode, but I'm now at least able to use it for my gaming PC relatively reliably. I currently can't get it to work with my work PC as it has decided that there's nothing connected via displayport. I may have to utilize a displayport cable to my PC just to pin the "app" for the displayport input so that I can switch inputs... Which should be a single button press like every other monitor and TV produced.

According to the Samsung manual for the G95SC:

BN81-24599G-00_WEB_G95SC_ASIA MENA AFRICA_ENG_230621.0.pdf

It has 3 inputs,  HDMI, Micro HDMI, and DP.

Did you read it?
