G95C GSYNC Model # LS49CG950ENXZA

Hello,

I just bought the above model new off of ebay and I’m already fairly confused .

First I can’t seem to find this model number anywhere.  I can find the CG952EN, but not the CG950EN.  

I can’t seem to get GSYNC to work with anything other than 120Hz with the HDMI 2.1.  port.  DP works, but I would rather use the single DP connection for my mac.  

This seems like a firmware issue?  I have tried cables, other monitors (video card is a TUF 4090 with HDMI 2,1a)

@Samsung_raGgv9w I don't think that is a Samsung US product. That is probably why you are having difficulty finding information.

Does this mean it isn’t supported?  I think I just need to return it but that is really a pain.  Did it come straight from you guys?

@Samsung_raGgv9w This is a user to user discussion area. I'm just another user like you. The reason I think it isn't a US product is because the Samsung US manual site doesn't recognize it.

Ebay?  Where was the seller located?  I found that model number listed locally in Pakistan. 

Remember Ebay,  Samsung and Amazon are Global companies so you have to  be aware of the region you are buying in.  Also, not all monitor features are available depending on the country it's sold in.  The User manual usually states this.

I went looking for a particular business class 4k monitor and found it listed in the UK.  Logging into Amazon.uk let me purchase the monitor and get free shipping to the US.

Amazon from what I believe to be actual Samsung?  Check the link I posted.  It has two options

• DP ONLY (950EN I got)
• DP + HDMI CABLE (954EN that I believe is the more known version)

Samsung support was awful and had no idea what the monitor actually was.  The description doesn’t make any sense but the answer is somewhere.  I don’t think I can rely I samsung to start a case and figure this out for me?  The tech support conversation ended with (it should work).  This 120Hz GSYNC issue was a thing that was fixed apparently some time ago.  

I’m lost 🙂
