Monitors and MemoryMy product information:
Model: Samsung LC49G95TSSNXZA (49" Odyssey G9)
Firmware Version: M-T9549GGAA-1020.0
System: ThinkPad P1 Gen 6 Intel with CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt dock
Connection: Dual DisplayPort cables
Issue Description:
After updating to firmware v1020.0, the Picture-by-Picture (PBP) mode no longer functions. When PBP mode is enabled with two DisplayPort cables connected, Windows displays only recognize one monitor output instead of two independent displays. This prevents PBP from operating, as the feature requires both inputs to be detected by the operating system.
Steps to Reproduce:
Connect two DisplayPort cables to the monitor
Enable PBP mode via OSD menu
Observe: Only one display is enumerated in Windows Display Settings
Expected: Two independent 24.5" displays should appear in Display Settings
Technical Details:
The issue appears to be related to EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) reporting in PBP mode. A temporary workaround exists: connecting an unused HDMI cable to the monitor restores EDID enumeration and allows PBP to function. However, this workaround triggers Samsung's multi-input setting restrictions, disabling access to Picture Modes and picture adjustment controls.
Impact:
Core feature (PBP) non-functional with dual DisplayPort configuration
Feature worked correctly on previous firmware versions
Workaround eliminates access to picture customization settings
Request:
Please investigate this firmware regression and consider releasing an updated firmware version to resolve this issue.
