A message box came up on my UN55TU7000FXZA screen. "Cary's IPAD wants to connect to this TV" and it had an "Allow" button. "Cary" is unknown to us. The message box went away before we could pick up the remote to respond. How can this happen? Dont think its my WIFI because it requires a password to connect. Is there a security/privacy issue with the TV?

Modern TVs support many connectivity options such as AirPlay. Some people may have mistakenly chosen your TV as the device to which they want to connect their iPad. This action was canceled, so it disappeared. This is the normal operation of your TV.

Its a universal thing. Samsung has "smart things" so it will pair with near by devices. You have to option to accept or not. No need to worry about privacy or security issue. You could go over to a friends house and connect your phone to their tv.
