Hi all - piggybacking off this post from last month - https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/LED-and-OLED-TVs/S95C-PS5-Game-Mode-Bug-Black-Screen/m-p/3054269

It was marked "solved" but replacing the TV isn't exactly a solution, is it? I too am experiencing this behavior on my 77" S95C running FW 2011 more frequently this past month, though it has been intermittent at times within tolerable limits since I acquired the TV in March 2023 at launch (yes, I probably should have opened a repair ticket last year on this, but for the most part it's been a good experience overall in my case).

I've also replaced all my device cables with 8K certified HDMI 2.1 / HDCP 2.3 compliant - simple setup - OCB has a HP Omen gaming PC (Nvidia 4080) on HDMI 4, Q990C soundbar on HDMI 3 (eARC), and PS5 on HDMI 2, Chromecast as well on HDMI 1 for niche casting needs.  In case it matters I am using the longer OCB cable since my TV is wall-mounted.

Referencing the other post though, toggling Game Mode OFF and the Input Signal Plus for the HDMI input seems to help, was able to game for a couple hours last night with no random 2-5 second signal drops (black screen) after doing this (was also able to turn it back ON to my surprise, seems related to the Input Signal Plus for sure in my testing), but if I have to do it every time, this is something that needs to be addressed asap since turning game mode off also disables VRR and 120 Hz, which was the whole reason I got this TV in the first place!

It's truly a shame that such a beautiful display is hampered by this **bleep** OCB with its insufficient memory, slow NIC, and cheap connectors (judging from other posts) which at the time, seemed like a great idea if it could be upgraded in place to get newer features in the future, but it seems in their bid to go with the cheapest components imaginable, they have squandered the technology in a race to the bottom - truly disappointing as a long time Samsung owner of several TVs; this may be it for me!

If someone here is moderating, please let us know this bug has been acknowledged. I can open another ticket on my end, but calling this in earlier this week was a total waste of my time - phone support has gotten useless and only seeks to push you to open a repair ticket without any attempt to diagnose or troubleshoot using the TV's built-in tools. It's an obvious cash grab since I'm not in warranty; way to stand behind your products Samsung! /s

See too this post from Aug 2023 - https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/QLED-and-The-Frame-TVs/S95C-signal-dropouts-with-Sony-PlayStatio... - same issue where again the "solution" was to replace the OCB / open a repair ticket.

If I have to go the same route, so be it, but it hasn't really been a huge problem until the new 2xxx firmware dropped which seems to have exacerbated the issue.

AVS Forums also has similar reports on the S95C owners thread including this notice - https://www.avsforum.com/threads/2023-samsung-4k-s95c-s90c-s89c-owners-thread-no-price-talk.3267261/...

"11/25/24 - Be aware that upgrading to fw 201x possibly breaks compatibility with some cables when using 4K120, especially with 10bits and above, causing black screens, low resolutions, and potentially the need to power cycle the source. This seems to be most prevalent with certain brands of fiber optic HDMI cables, including Fibrr.

11/13/24 - HTPC users should consider not upgrading to firmware 2013. There have been reports of HDMI instability with the latest update."

An acknowledgement from Samsung here would be appreciated! I know it's the holidays so any hope of a quick fix probably won't happen until next month at the earliest, but would still be nice to see some action here; thanks!
