I just purchased a S84F model TV and it does not detect the input from my PC.
Unlike every TV I've ever interacted with, it seems I can't choose the input unless the TV decides there is something connected to it.

The PC is connected from an output on a graphics card, through HDMI, to the a HDMI input on the TV.
In my experience the PC won't output video until it detects a display, but since I can't switch to the input, no display is detected so output begins.

Is there a way to remedy this?

Hello, gobagool. Welcome to the Samsung Community!
Letโ€™s see if we can get your TV to recognize your PC so you can mirror the display. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
-Basic Checks

Check the cable: Make sure both ends are firmly connected to your PC and TV.
Restart devices: Unplug both the PC and TV for 30 seconds, then power them back on.
Try another cable or port: Swap the HDMI cable or use a different HDMI port on the TV.
Adjust PC display settings: On your PC, set the display mode to Duplicate or Extend.

-Other Tips

Update your graphics drivers.
Lower the PC resolution temporarily (for example, 1280ร—720).
