Hello

I have a Samsung family hub fridge with the tablet on it (model number visible in attached pic). The Samsung Family hub update began around 3 hours ago but appears stuck at 100% and I'm not sure what to do here.

Please help!

Well actually I don't see these two buttons on my fridge. However, it turns out I have a hidden red switch atop the right door so I turned the switch off and on and it seems to have rebooted the tablet and it's back to the processing screen. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽

I'm sorry, this may be inappropriate for the occasion; I'm, however, compelled to tell you how awesome your fridge is and how jealous I am!

Now that that's out of the way, my first question would be: Does it respond to any input whatsoever?
Typically, even if it's frozen in the native update system app, you should still be able use whatever form of system navigation it has and navigate yourself back to the home screen.

Although, upon looking again, you seem to be stuck in the initial setup screen where it does its initial update. This complicates things as you don't typically get your navigation UI until setup is complete. Do you even have the back button that is always present during the setup routine on other Samsung/Android setups?

Hi there, thanks so much for your response. No there is no way -- it's full screen and it might being recovery. I'm familiar enough with Androids and as far as I can tell it's just stuck with no input possible and no clickable elements I can see.

Any other ideas?

As a matter of fact I do!

Simultaneously press and hold the Power Freeze and Power Cool buttons for approximately 10 seconds until the display panel resets or goes blank.
This will initiate a power cycle without you having to go through the trouble of unplugging the refrigerator and then it requiring a few hours after being plugged back in to stabilize itself this should be just as simple and the equivalent as rebooting your phone

Dang ok I was going to ask if there is such a magic incantation possible or like worst case I would have some way to jack in and try and `adb reboot` lol. Let me try this!

Ok that worked, it completed the processing and rebooted into the OS. It seems to have signed me out interestingly but that's an easier problem to fix.

Big thanks for the help!

Hey, no problem. I saw the red switch solution as well. I just wasn't positive on what year model the fridge was. That model number gave both methods for forcing a reboot, but I'm glad that I was able to help in some way get you and your awesome fridge up and going!
