Samsung Q990D unresponsive after 1020 firmware update

Since the update, the soundbar is unresponsive and can't be reset.

Seems like quite a few people with the issue

Doesn’t jibe with what I’ve read others experience was. Some have said they replaced their PCB (motherboard?).

If this happened in the UK you would be able to contact your retailer, who are legally obliged as the seller to repair the product in reasonable time, if they cannot (Samsung being slow) then they must replace the product with a new one, no ifs or buts, it is the law.

I have a 930d and Smart Things says 1016 is the latest firmware. They must have removed 1020 or it was never available for this model. I dodged a bullet, it seems.

It was available because it unfortunately killed my Q930D 😕

The same thing happened to me.  Working fine then turned into a VERY expensive brick!

Not quite sure how they’ll push an automatic update to fix it when it doesn’t see the internet connection

You can update it with a USB flash drive.

I think the problem is that the change prevents USB updating. Other people have tried to do it and it does not work

I don't think the soundbar updates if it's the same firmware version (for those trying USB method). Samsung would have to issue a new firmware version for us to see if it works or not
