Recently I notice my Q90c and Q 990c are not co-operating. It only allows me to use wi-fi or blue tooth. I have been through the gamut for 2 weeks in every way possible, even with Chatgpt +. Just to be thorough, I have copied and extracted updated files to usb in every combination possible - NOTHING WORKS! The Q 90c does not recognize the Q-990c via eArc, even with factory data reset in the tv. Everything has been unplugged in every way imaginable; new HDMI cables; various HDMI cables. I have been in and out of every menu, in every way, clicking every switch in every combo I can think of - This is clearly on your end SAMSUNG. I am currently, setting the tv up as new and it does not acknowledge the soundbar as powered on when it is powered on. It picks up on any other device, but the Q-990c. This is a $5,000 fail and I am beyond livid. **bleep**?!!!

Okay, I have a successful reset again.
Each success I have had, always includes disconnecting all HDMI cables from my Q90c.

1. Unplug all HDMI cables.
2. Power off  then unplug, TV and soundbar. Minimum 60 seconds, I have found all time suggestions from others and Samsung tend to be double the time for me), so, 2 minutes.
3. Unplug HDMI from earc at both sides, for 10 seconds (ie, 20 seconds).
4. Reconnect HDMI to TV earc first, then to soundbar.
5. Plug TV in and turn on. Wait 15-30 seconds for processing internally. (I made this part up, but it makes sense to me.)
6. TV->Settings-> Sound-> Expert Settings-> HDMI eARC mode->Auto (I turn off, wait 10-20 seconds) then turn on, Auto.
7. Settings->Connection->External Device Manager->Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC)-> On (I turn off, wait 10-20 seconds) then turn on, Auto. (This is the key piece that is at failure. It is the "hand shake" between devices. My model, requires this be turned off for 10 seconds to reset the "hand shake". All models could have a different method depending on where product was distributed in the world.)
8. (Optional, but worked for me) External Device Manager -> Input Signal Plus (HDMI 3, my earc channel). Whatever it is set to, switch it). This is the other culprit of this "hand shake" problem.

Anecdotal:

A few days ago, before this original complaint, I originally solved my eARC "hand shake", but, I went in to  settings to solve my universal remote situation, as I had turned off that feature and needed both remotes to function each device. I had forgotten exactly what I did to make that happen, so I switched the Input Signal Plus button and it caused my failure again, reverting to wifi q-symphony.

Today, switching from off to on(see step 8 after 10 seconds or so, the tv started the soundbar Q-symphony process on it's on and is now okay...at least it was before I shared all of this. If I have nothing else to say today, you should know it still works.

I used Chatgpt Plus for troubleshooting and eventually, it will take you down secret tech service methods. It is AI and only as good as your words, but it may offer suggestions for same model year tv, but for different regions. You will pick up on it, as the steps will be missing something in your chain. For example, it told me to press a button to hold on the remote, but the place where it said it was, was in another location on the remote. I took a picture of my remote and it said if I had that remote, then do this. In short, there are same models out there with different remotes or features depending on where it was sold.

It failed. CEC communications is broken in Samsung. Plugging up other devices like a PS5 Pro to the other Q90c channels confuses Samsung software. An absolute joke. Users of many models are experiencing this and Samsung ignores it. Unbelievable.

It's Samsung's software/firmware. It has corrupted model C, D, and apparently Fs now. They don't care. Today my tv says the speakers don't exist. It is beyond acceptable. They know it's a problem and are do nothing about it. SAMSUNG DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CONSUMERS.

I just ordered an e-arc extractor. They will never get another penny from me.
