When playing games, it is normal for a device to become warm, just not hot to touch. Make sure to close any unused open apps. Also, avoid extreme screen brightness when playing games. The device is an FE, so it's not meant for extreme usage.

"Extreme usage" I'm referring to some games particularly graphically demanding ones that push the limits of the CPU, causing the device to become hot or overheat.

Is your device actually overheating, as in shutting down, or just becoming uncomfortably warm? Your phone has built in overheating protection. If the device becomes too hot, it will shut itself off to prevent damage.

If you are concerned about thermal issues, you can switch to a light performance profile (may not be the best if you intend to use the device for gaming) and download Good Guardians.

Within Good Guardians, Thermal Guardian monitors your device temp and provides additional tools to help manage heating.

As @CEParsons said, just because the phone feels warm, does not mean it's overheating.  Games and videos produce a lot of heat and the screen will absorb that heat and feel warm.  When the phone actually overheats, you will likely feel nothing, as the phone's internal sensors detect the battery and processor (core) temperature and will protect itself by dimming, slowing down, or shutting down (it will always warn you).

Yeah, that definitely shouldn’t be happening, especially with a new phone. A little warmth during gaming is normal, but overheating after just a few minutes sounds like more than usual. You might want to check for software updates or try lowering your graphics settings in the game to see if it helps. If it keeps overheating, I’d contact Samsung support — it could be a hardware issue.
